Aims and Scope

Aim:
Environmental Health and Pollution is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal dedicated to advancing knowledge and fostering global discourse on the interactions between environmental pollution and human health. The journal aims to publish high-quality research, reviews, and policy analyses that address the sources, effects, mitigation, and management of environmental pollutants, with a focus on their implications for public health, ecosystems, and sustainable development. By bridging the gap between environmental science and health studies, the journal seeks to inform policymakers, researchers, and practitioners in developing evidence-based solutions to reduce pollution exposure and promote environmental health equity.

Scope:
The journal welcomes original research articles, reviews, case studies, and short communications covering a broad spectrum of topics related to environmental pollution and its health impacts. Key areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

1. Environmental Pollution Sources and Characterization

  • Air, water, soil, and noise pollution

  • Emerging contaminants (e.g., microplastics, pharmaceuticals, PFAS)

  • Heavy metals, pesticides, and industrial chemicals

  • Radioactive and electronic waste (e-waste)

2. Health Impacts of Pollution

  • Respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological effects of pollution

  • Endocrine disruption and reproductive health

  • Cancer risks associated with environmental toxins

  • Vulnerable populations (children, elderly, marginalized communities)

3. Environmental Monitoring and Risk Assessment

  • Novel detection methods for pollutants

  • Bioindicators and biomonitoring

  • Exposure assessment and epidemiological studies

  • Risk communication and public perception

4. Pollution Control and Remediation

  • Green technologies for pollution reduction

  • Waste management and recycling innovations

  • Bioremediation and phytoremediation

  • Sustainable industrial practices

5. Climate Change and Pollution Interactions

  • Impact of climate change on pollution dispersion

  • Heatwaves, wildfires, and air quality

  • Ocean acidification and marine pollution

6. Policy, Regulation, and Global Health

  • Environmental health policies and governance

  • International agreements (e.g., Paris Agreement, Minamata Convention)

  • Environmental justice and health disparities

  • One Health approach to pollution management

Environmental Health and Pollution encourages submissions from multidisciplinary fields, including environmental science, toxicology, public health, engineering, epidemiology, and policy studies. The journal serves as a platform for researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to share innovative strategies for mitigating pollution and safeguarding human and ecological health in a rapidly changing world.

By fostering collaboration across disciplines, the journal strives to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

We invite scientists, practitioners, and policymakers to contribute their research to advance the understanding and resolution of environmental health challenges.
